Preschool & Kindergarten Registration 2020-2021


Kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year is scheduled for Friday, April 17.  In order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year, children must turn five (5) years old on, or before, August 1, 2020 (KRS 158.030).  You will be able to complete an online registration form at that time or pick up a registration packet from your elementary school.  If you have questions about kindergarten registration, please contact Amy Polston at or 606-679-1123.    Online Registration Available HERE.


Application for preschool for the 2020-2021 school year is scheduled for Friday, April 17.   You will be able to complete an online application at that time or pick up a paper application at one of the following locations:

Memorial Education Center @222 Langdon Street Somerset, KY 

Burnside Elementary @435 East Lakeshore Drive Burnside, KY

Eubank Elementary @285 W. HWY 70 Eubank, KY 

Nancy Elementary @240 HWY 196 Nancy, KY

Northern Elementary @6155 HWY 39 Somerset, KY 

Shopville Elementary @10 Shopville Road Shopville, KY

Preschool programs in Pulaski County Schools are available to four-year-old children on August 1 of year of attendance and who also meet eligibility guidelines for state-funded preschool, meaning that they live in a household with income up to 160% of the federal poverty level or receive KTAP or SNAP.  Preschool also is available for three- and four-year-old children with disabilities. Tuition spots may be available, depending on classroom enrollment numbers. A child may be considered for early entrance to kindergarten if the child

(1) will turn five years old after August 1, but on or before October 1;

(2) is academically, socially, and emotionally ready for kindergarten;

(3) a request for early entrance is submitted by May 1, 2020.  


Requests for early entrance may be submitted online, using the form found here.  Or paper applications (download) are also accepted at the Pulaski County Board of Education, 925 N. Main St. Somerset, KY 42503.



Effective July 1, 2018: All students in preschool through twelfth grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school.  These doses are given 6 months apart.
