PLTW Distinguished School PLTW

Burnside Elementary has once again been recognized as a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished School for increasing access, engagement, and achievement in our PLTW program. We are extremely proud of this award from an organization with national reach and presence.

Burnside Elementary began offering PLTW in 2016-2017, and today, 100% of students in grades K-5 participate in our PLTW program. We’re inspiring and engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and preparing them for success in their careers and beyond. Since PLTW, our students have improved their academic knowledge as well as their ability to reason and solve real world problems.  They have learned to work in teams and groups to solve a common problem.

Plastic Lid Collection Plastic Lids

We are collecting plastic lids that are 8 inches or less.  These lids will be recycled and turned in to a park bench for our school and community.  We collected enough last year and a park bench was made for Pulaski County Park and White Lily Community Center & Park.

We can use lids from bottled water, bottled drinks, orange juice lids, mayonnaise lids, any plastic lid, etc.

Please send in plastic lids that have been cleaned.  We will have a box in the foyer at school to collect the lids.
