FEBRUARY 2019 UPDATE: 519A BurnsideBots competed in the VEX IQ KY State Tournament. The team was awarded the Judges Award. The Judges Award is presented to a team that the Judges determine is deserving of special recognition. Judges consider a number of possible criteria for this award, such as team displays of special attributes, exemplary effort and perseverance at the event, or team accomplishments or endeavors throughout the season. The team also placed 8th in the state in the final round of the Next Level Teamwork Challenge. Way to go Andrea and Ella!

What is VEX IQ Robotics? In the VEX IQ Next Level Challenge, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels. Our goal this year will be to compete in 1-2 regional competitions, where local champions go on to compete against the best in the state at the KY State Championships.
